Chhattisgarh: Two BSF jawans killed, one injured in gunfight with alleged Maoists
The two deceased constables were identified as Lokender Singh and Mukdhiyar Singh, from Rajasthan and Punjab.
Two Border Security Force personnel were killed and another injured in a gunfight with alleged Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on Sunday morning.
A team of the Border Security Force’s 114th battalion was returning from an anti-Maoist operation when a group of alleged Naxalites fired at them around 3.45 am, PTI reported, citing Deputy Inspector General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) P Sundarraj. The gunfight occurred in a forest near the BSF’s Mahla camp under the Partapaur police station limits.

The two deceased constables were identified as Lokender Singh and Mukdhiyar Singh, from Rajasthan and Punjab. Constable Sandeep Dey, who was injured in the fight, was airlifted to Raipur for treatment.
The attack came days after two Border Security Force personnel were killed in a blast triggered allegedly by Maoists in Kanker district of Bastar division.
