Fuel prices dropped for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, with rates being slashed by six to 10 paise in metro cities.

A litre of petrol cost Rs 76.30 in Delhi on Monday, compared to Rs 76.37 on Sunday, according to the Indian Oil Corporation. Petrol was priced at Rs 83.75 in Mumbai, Rs 79.15 in Kolkata and Rs 79.25 in Chennai on Monday.

The price of diesel dropped by nine paise in Delhi, with a litre of diesel costing Rs 67.89 on Monday. A litre of diesel cost Rs 72.07 in Mumbai, Rs 70.56 in Kolkata and Rs 71.70 in Chennai.

Global oil prices fell on Monday because of increasing concerns about fuel demand after finance ministers and central bank governors from the G20 nations warned that risks to global economic growth have increased amid rising trade and geopolitical tensions, reported The Financial Express.
