CRPF jawan injured as suspected militants open fire at security personnel on Jammu-Srinagar highway
The police said the driver and conductor of the truck from where the firing started were taken into custody.
A Central Reserve Police Force jawan sustained injuries as suspected militants opened fire at security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Wednesday, Greater Kashmir reported. The jawan was identified as Domesh Dass.
Security forces are searching for the suspected militants involved in the incident, said the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek Gupta said the firing started from a truck after it was intercepted by the police at a check post, The Indian Express reported. One AK-47 and three magazines were recovered from the truck.
The police said the driver and conductor of the vehicle were taken into custody. The incident occurred near the Jhajjar Koti Police Station, located between Jammu and Udhampur.
