Four killed, three injured in fire at ONGC plant in Navi Mumbai
The fire broke out in a stormwater drainage at an oil and gas processing plant, the company said. Gas is being diverted to a Gujarat plant.

Four people were killed and three were injured in a fire at a plant of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday morning, PTI quoted the police as saying. The fire has been doused, said the company.
One of those killed was an ONGC officer, while the others were personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force, ANI quoted Navi Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe as saying. Those injured, also personnel of the CISF, were out of danger, he added.
“Fire is under control now, there is no need to panic and people living nearby the site must not believe rumours,” Dudhe said.
The fire broke out in a stormwater drainage at an oil and gas processing plant in Uran area, the company tweeted. The blaze had no impact on oil processing, while gas was diverted to Hazira plant in Gujarat, ONGC said.
The company later said its “robust crisis mitigation preparedness” helped douse the fire in a very short time.
Several fire brigade teams were sent to the spot after the fire broke out. The injured persons were taken to nearby hospitals.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The supply of compressed natural gas and piped natural gas was hit in Mumbai after the fire, reported the Hindustan Times.
