The Finest Hours Craig Gillespie’s high-seas rescue drama is set in the 1950s and based on The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Most Daring Sea Rescue by Craig Sherman and Michael J Tougias. The movie follows the efforts of the Coast Guard to save the ship SS Pendleton after a storm splits it into pieces. The cast of actors who look fetching in period threads includes Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Casey Affleck and Eric Bana.
