Three Hindi movies and one Hollywood sequel are opening on April 22.

Nil Battey Sannata Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s debut feature stars Swara Bhaskar as Chanda, a maid in Agra who has big dreams for her 15-year-old daughter Apeksha (Ria Shukla). But Apeksha doesn’t share her mother’s drive, and is particularly weak in mathematics (hence the title, which loosely translates to “dunce”.) Chanda is left with no option but to enroll herself in her daughter’s school and pick up the skills that will help her daughter score well in her crucial 10th standard exams. The movie also stars Ratna Pathak Shah and Pankaj Tripathi.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War A prequel/sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), but without the central character. Snow White, played by Kirsten Stewart, doesn’t figure in the new film, a result of both star and director Rupert Sanders being dropped after having an affair during the production. The new film has been directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, and follows the back story of the huntsman Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and his wife Sara (Jessica Chastain), who are soldiers in the army of Ice Queen Freya (Emily Blunt). Freya is the sister of the evil Ravenna (Charlize Theron), who was finished off by her step-daughter Snow White in the first movie. Freya seeks the magic mirror that has survived Ravenna’s demise, and Eric, with the help of four dwarves, thwarts her plan.
