After the party comes the party-pooper. The success of the Hindi movie Pink has inspired the YouTube video channel Shudh Desi Endings to make an animated parody video with a twist climax.

Sink meshes the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie divorce saga with the courtroom scenes in Pink, aiming to provide a satirical video that is neither funny nor memorable.

Footage of Brad Pitkar and Anjali Nalawade is intercut with scenes featuring an animated character that is meant to resemble Amitabh Bachchan’s lawyer in Pink. The lawyer gets distracted as Nalawade shows her scars in strategic locations and accuses Pitkar of domestic abuse. The cartoon character even stops the proceedings to take a selfie with Nalawade.

‘Sink’.

Pitkar refers to his wife’s desire to adopt more and more children when he is asked about why he wants a divorce. There’s a unfunny reference to Pitt and Jolie’s children, linking their names to computer programming and C++.

An actor resembling Hrithik Roshan too makes an appearance as a witness. He seems to be inebriated and cackles at unconnected references. There are nods to Hindi films: Bachchan asks Nalawade, “Kya apne kabhi apne husband se pyar kiya?” as the audience cheers, “Kiya!” (the reference is to Karz, 1973). The signature tune of the Kaun Banega Crorepati television show, hosted by Bachchan, plays briefly.

The video veers off course, and ends with the judge granting the couple a divorce as the lawyer spouts a few more unrelated dialogue. Apart from Pitkar’s misogyny and the courtroom setting, the connections between Pink and Sink remain unclear throughout.
