Actor and producer Aamir Khan has confirmed that he will release his home production Secret Superstar in China in the coming months, reported Spotboye. “Secret Superstar will definitely release in China in the next one or two months. We are working on the planning aspect of it,” he said at the success party of the film.
China has emerged as an important market for the actor after the massive success of his previous film Dangal, which was released across 9,000 screens with English subtitles in China.
Khan, who has co-produced as well as acted in Advait Chandan’s directorial debut, said that that October 19 release had earned twice its budget at the Indian box office. “Box office numbers are just one yardstick about the success of a film,” Khan said. “If you see the numbers, we have earned double than the budget of the film. Normally, the film which recover its cost is called a hit, then this film should be called a super hit.”
Secret Superstar narrates the journey of Insiya (Zaira Wasim), a teenager who aspires to be a singer but is forced to pursue her dreams by stealth.
