Hyderabad Police book Telugu actor Vijay Sai’s estranged wife, two others for abetment to suicide
The 38-year-old, who was found hanging in his bedroom on Monday, purportedly shot a video blaming the three before taking his life.
The Hyderabad Police have charged Telugu actor Vijay Sai’s estranged wife and two others for abetment to suicide, after he was found hanging from the ceiling in his apartment on Monday. Officers registered a case against Vanita, advocate Srinivas and one Sashidhar after a video Sai purportedly shot just before he committed suicide emerged, IANS reported on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old actor’s housekeeper found his body. The police found the video on his mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination. In the clip, the comedian purportedly blames his estranged wife and the two others for driving him to commit suicide.
Sai and Vanita separated two years ago and also filed for divorce. He had been living alone at his Jubilee Hills home since then.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Venkateshwar Rao told IANS that they registered the case against the three on the basis of a complaint filed by Sai’s father Subba Rao. The actor’s parents claimed he had been under stress because of his wife’s behaviour. Vanita countered the allegation by accusing Sai of domestic violence.
Vijay Sai made his debut in Tollywood in 2001. He has acted in films such as Bommarillu and Ammayilu Abbayilu, among others.
