The Hindi remake rights of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017) have been purchased by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde of Cineone Studios, Bombay Times reported. The producers have approached Sandeep Vanga, who helmed the Telugu film, to direct the Hindi remake.
Produced by Bhadrakaali Pictures and starring Vijay Deverakonda, Arjun Reddy revolves around a medical student with anger management issues. Arjun turns to alcohol and drugs after his girlfriend is forced to marry another man. The film is also reportedly being remade in Tamil as Varma, and will be directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Bala.
“The movie will be edgy and completely mainstream,” Varde told Bombay Times about the Hindi remake.
