Politics and pineapples come together in the teaser for Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite, released by Fox Searchlight on Monday. The whimsical comedy-drama is set in the 18th Century, a time when England is locked in war with France. However, Queen Anne (Olivia Colman), the last Stuart monarch, is more preoccupied with duck races and pineapple eating. Political affairs are handled by her friend and trusted aide Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz). When the new help, Abigail (Emma Stone), arrives, she vies to become the queen’s favourite. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn and Mark Gatiss.

The Favourite will be released in the United States of America on November 23, and the United Kingdom and Ireland on January 1, 2019.
