Universal Pictures is planning a movie about July’s cave rescue in Thailand, reported Deadline Hollywood. This is the seventh film that has been announced about the incredible international rescue operation that saved 12 boys and their football coach from deep inside a cave in Thailand.

Universal Pictures has acquired the life rights of coach Ekkapol Chantawong, Richard Harris, Craig Challen, and the players of the Wild Boar soccer team, the publication added. The film will be produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, who had previously collaborated on the The Social Network (2010), Fifty Shades of Grey franchise and Captain Philips (2013). The producers released a joint statement in which they said that they were in awe of the divers’ heroic efforts and were excited to get the opportunity to tell the story.

The football team was trapped on June 23 when rising flood water forced them deep inside the cave. The rescue operation spanned three weeks. The 12th boy and his coach were the last to be rescued on July 10.

The films that are currently in development include one by Jon M Chu and Ivanhoe Pictures, and another by DeWarrenne Productions, headed by Thai-Irish producer-director Tom Waller. Discovery Channel’s 40-minute documentary Operation Thai Cave Rescue was premiered in the United States of America on July 13.
