In an advertisement made by Vasan Bala, writer of films like Dev D, The Lunchbox, Peddlers and Raman Raghav 2.0, some cute kids out for iftar help an old samosa and jalebi vendor sell his wares in the crowded streets after his cart breaks down.

For sentimental viewers, some tissues would be advisable. For the more cynical ones, we recommend a heavy dose of eye-rolls.

Of course, advertising being advertising, and Ramzan being Ramzan, there are many other brands that have exploited the festival for signature "heartwarming" "heartstring-tugging" "nostalgia-inducing" moments.

Last year, an advert made by Pakistan Brand Shan Masala created a yearning for their products by pointing out the chief problem faced by diaspora communities – the dearth of home-cooked food, especially during Ramzan.
