Men worked relentlessly in Fukuoka, Japan to repair a giant sinkhole which generated widespread shock when it opened up. It led to power outages, evacuation and traffic snarls in the city, not to mention shock and awe on social media.

The enormous sinkhole was most likely caused by an attempt to extend the subway from a nearby station. However, workers took on the challenge of repairing the road, accomplishing the feat just a few days days after the mishap. The 90-feet wide sinkhole was gone almost as quickly as it appeared.

But the repair was extraordinary. Services like electricity, gas and sewage started running normally just 48 hours after it was completed. The footage for the video above was collected from CCTV cameras, and it showcases the impressive repair efforts.
