It isn’t only subtitles from 2004 German movie Downfall that can be manipulated to have Adolf Hitler react to events in the news. A new video reimagines the plot of Spider Man 2 as the The Days of Demonetisation.

Here, instead of working with fusion reactors as in the original film, Dr Otto Octavius invents the new Rs 2,000 note. Consequently, the old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes belonging to everyone in attendance get sucked into the reactor, “even though these people do not have black money”. There is chaos and the machine overloads, and there is a gigantic explosion.

Cut to a few months later. What remains is a post-apocayptic wasteland as a single solitary old Rs 500 note floats by.
