Scribble. Doodle. Draw. Paint. Everyone has indulged in this naive artistic play. The drawings may not come out well in the technical sense but they do have a sense of importance for the young creator.

As they try to pour out their imaginations on paper, children often use bursts of colour. To adults, these drawing may not make much sense.

This video takes a psychological view of things and suggests while a child’s drawing reflects their freedom of thought and creativity, perceptions change with adulthood. This spontaneous activity may reduce with maturity and the tendency to view things objectively.

How does one, then, look at children’s drawings, especially in an age of digital world?

Children’s drawings are “a map of how we should sometimes remember to be”, the video says. Age should be no bar because at the end of the day, it’s all about enjoying our creativity.
