Arjan Singh, Marshal of the Indian Air Force, died after a heart attack on Saturday, at the age of 98. India’s only five-star rank officer, and oldest surviving soldier, had been confined to a wheelchair for several years, but that didn’t stop him from observing protocol.
As the video above shows, in 2015, after President APJ Kalam’s death, a fully-uniformed Singh stood up from his wheelchair and walked up to lay a wreath of flowers at the base of the coffin with Kalam’s body. A touching gesture, and one worth remembering Marshal Singh for.
