Watch: A serious political interview on live TV was derailed by a playful cat
Polish academic Jerzy Targalski discussed politics while his cat Lisio climbed all over him.
The Polish historian & political scientist Jerzy Targalski remained completely unruffled during our interview when this happened👇🤨🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/4dLi16Pq1H

Polish academic and political scientist Jerzy Targalski was on live television during the Dutch news show Nieuwsuur on NTR, discussing the very serious subject of the ouster of Poland’s top Supreme Court judge, when his cat decided it was playtime.
Named Lisio, the cat started subtly, pawing Targalski’s shoulder. What happened afterwards is there for the world to see in the video above, posted on twitter by Nieuwsuur’s Rudy Bouma.
This wasn’t the first time Targalski’s cats derailed his interview or tried to steal the show. Lisio and another cat made a similar appearance during an interview recently with Polish broadcaster Telewizja Republika (video below).
Social media has now declared Targalski a “good man” because his cat loves him so much, and believe the cat deserves his own show.
I know nothing about this man but I bet he's a good person.

Yeah if you can grab a cat by the tail and live, it must like you.

Did this man rub himself down with catnip before the interview? Or is his cat just hopelessly in love with him? I love this.

I really wish this cat would host #newsnight

This glorious TV moment joins the ranks of some of the greatest moments that have interrupted live interviews (videos below), like the infamous “BBC Dad” being upstaged by his children, the “Al Jazeera Dad”, and the BBC reporter mobbed by lemurs:
We just had a BBC moment on live TV. pic.twitter.com/HJf3Rsguvk
