Watch: Bob Woodward talks ‘Fear’ with Stephen Colbert, says the truth on Trump will emerge
Stephen Colbert told Bob Woodward he buried the best part of the book.
Exposing several presidents and eighteen books later, Bob Woodward is taking on the task of uncovering the reality of Donald Trump’s presidency.
The day before his book Fear: Trump in the White House hit the shelves, the veteran journalist and author went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, who promptly read out the already-legendary last line of the book (video above).
Trump’s reaction has been his usual frenzied tweeting to undermine all criticism, but Woodward quotes Ben Bradlee, the Washington Post editor at the time of the Watergate scandal: “The truth emerges. And the truth will emerge on this too.”
After a break, Woodward discussed the book and its sources, which include explosive quotes attributed to Trump administration figures like Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Chief of Staff John Kelly (below). And, he added, he stands by every word he wrote.
