The UP Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for 2018 were conducted under tight security between February 6th and March 10th. The security arrangement made a lot of news as over 10 lakh students had skipped partaking in the examination.

The government claimed that this was due to the clamping down on the education mafia that would help students to use unfair means during the exams. The government later clarified that most of the students who had skipped the exam were from other states, some even from Nepal and Bangladesh.
