Baleshwar districted ranked the highest in terms of pass percentage with 88.25%. The Odisha BSE conducted the 10th examination this year from February 23rd to March 8th, 2018.

This year the board decided not to allow students to appear in their own schools for the BSE 10th exam, and they were allocated a different centre. The board said that this fact and strict security measures were reasons for the decreased pass percentage this year. Last year the BSE 10th exam had registered a pass percentage of 85%. This year 36 schools registered pass percentage of zero, which is 14 more than last year.
