The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) released a notification for the 64th Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination 2018 on August 3rd. On August 2nd, the Commission had released a brief advertisement with steps on how to register for the exam. The official notification was released a day later.

The Commission is going to recruit 1,255 positions. The minimum age for eligible candidates is 20-22 years depending on the position, while the maximum age is 37 years for general candidates. There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates. The exact date of the exam will be published later on the official website.

Candidates who wish to apply for the positions can register at the official website, onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in. The detailed notification for the recruitment drive can be accessed at bpsc.bih.nic.in. Registrations for the examination began on August 3rd and the last date to register is August 20th. The last day to pay the registration fee is August 24th and the last day to fill the online application is August 31st.

How to register for the 64th BPSC 2018 Combined Preliminary Competitive exam

  1. Candidates must have a mobile number and an email ID.    
  2. Log on to the BPSC application website.    
  3. Click on the ‘Online Registration’ tab.    
  4. Click on ‘Apply Online’ against 64th CCE.    
  5. Fill in the form and click on ‘Submit’.    
  6. You will be registered, and your User Name and password will be sent to your email ID.    
  7. After the registration, the link to make the online payment will be activated on the next day after 11 a.m. in your login page.    
  8. You will have to pay the requisite application fee.    
  9. After the payment, an online application form link will be activated on the next day after 11 a.m.    
  10. You must log in to the page and click on the link to apply.    
  11. Fill in the form and click on Submit.    
  12. After submitting, you will be able to download the application form and take a printout.    

The preliminary exam will be multiple choice question format of 150 marks. The questions will test candidates’ knowledge on general science, national and international current events, Bihar’s and India’s history, general geography, Bihar’s important geographical features and rivers, Bihar’s economic and social situation post-independence, Bihar’s contribution to important revolutions in India, and logical reasoning.
