The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (BCECEB) released a notification on Sunday, August 5th, stating that it has postponed the second and third allotment result for BCECE 2018 (PCM group). The second allotment result was scheduled to be declared on August 4th and the third allotment was scheduled for August 10th. The Board stated that the new dates will be announced soon on the BCECEB website.

The first allotment result was declared on July 28th and selected candidates were to report to their allotted centre between July 29th and August 1st. However, the board, in a notification released on July 31st, extended the last date (to report after first allotment) to August 3rd.

The BCECE 2018 counselling began on July 18th when the board released the seat matrix and the information brochure and candidates were given until July 25th to submit their choices for BCECE counselling. Although the board was supposed to conduct three rounds of counselling, the seat choice submission was allowed during this window period for all the rounds.

The BCECE 2018 exam was held on April 20th and April 30th, and the result and merit list were declared on June 21st. A separate merit list was declared for PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) group, PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) group, and for Agriculture Science.

BCECEB conducts the BCECE counselling for admission to engineering courses for universities and colleges in the state of Bihar. Apart from engineering, the board also conducts admissions to professional courses in polytechnic, health science, and agriculture.
