A blunder was committed at the Uttar Pradesh police recruitment exam and now the UP Police Recruitment Board has released a notification with a clarification about the UP Police and PAC Recruitment Exam 2018 conducted on June 18th and 19th in two shifts. The second shift papers of the exam conducted during the two days have now been declared invalid. As many as 10 lakh candidates who had appeared in the second shift will have to re-appear for the examination.

As per the official statement released by the board, available on the official website, it has come to board’s notice that the second shift examination papers were accidentally distributed for the first shift candidates at a few centres. Hence, the board has decided to declare the second shift exam as invalid and conduct a fresh examination for UP Police recruitment soon. The exam was conducted for recruitment to 41,520 posts.

The notification did not reveal any specific date for the UP Police re-exam. Candidates who had appeared for the examination in the second shift may check the updates regarding the re-examination on the official website. To be clear, the candidates who had appeared in the first shift do not have worry as their test still stands valid; the UP Police first shift exam papers will be evaluated.

The Board has decided to file an FIR against the exam centre supervisor and the representatives of the agency that was conducting the exam, an India Today report says. The exam was held across 860 centres to fill vacancies for both male and female constables in the police force and male constables in the PAC.
