Oppo had built considerable hype around its latest smartphone, F9, with series of posters revealing interesting details about the device. Now, the Chinese-owned brand has officially launched the phone in Vietnam. Several key elements of the phone were teased earlier such as the fast charging feature courtesy Oppo’s VOOC technology and the powerful 25-megapixel selfie snapper. But Oppo managed to surprise everyone with its pricing set very competitively at VND (Vietnamese dong) 7,690,000, which is is roughly Rs. 23070.

The smartphone is definitely a value for money product with its 6.3 inch TFT-LTPS display that boasts of 90.8 percent body-to-screen ratio. The F9 is being offered in two 4GB and 6GB RAM variants for faster and smoother functioning. The dual camera details which were a mystery until now were revealed at the event. The device gets a primary 16-megapixel camera along with a 2 megapixel secondary sensor at the back allowing for sharper portrait snaps.

But as Oppo is popularly known for its aesthetically appealing design and selfie cameras, this device does not disappoint on that front either. Oppo F9 comes with AI-enabled 25-megapixel front camera with host of features such as intelligent scene recognition, clear back-lighting for better low light pictures, and slow-motion recording adhering to the popular trend.

The design however was the focal point of this F series phone, F9, with its water droplet display design that houses the front camera. The gradient colour option, one of the firsts in the segment, lends the elegant look and premium feel to the smartphone. F9 is being offered in two colour options – Sunshine Red and Twilight Blue, skipping the starry Purple colour variant.

Pre-orders for the phone have already begun and will end on August 24, after which Oppo F9 will be available for purchase at official stores and online. The pre-order entails free goodies like Quick charge VOOC backup and zero percent interest rate on the EMI option.

The India-bound F9 Pro which is expected to be an iteration of the F9 is scheduled for official launch on August 21st. The pricing is expected to be on the similar lines with that of the Vietnam, that is around 23-25 thousand range.

Oppo F9 specifications

Oppo F9 has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and screen-to-body ratio of 90.8 per cent. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Helio P60 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. The battery is a 3500mAh one with support for the company’s VOOC fast charging technology, which is said to offer two hours of usage in just five minutes of charge.
