Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or ‘Clean India’ programme starts today. The Prime Minister will himself be out on the streets with a broom sweeping away and cleaning up Delhi. The campaign is aimed at cleaning up India and improving sanitation facilities.

The Prime Ministers pet project aims for a clean India by 2019, on the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The campaign will be launched from the Boat Club area on Rajpath. All government offices will administer a cleanliness pledge at 9:45 AM today.

All this week, central government employees have done their bit in cleaning up the offices and removing old furniture and sprucing up offices like never before.
