Tapping deep into the traumatic memory of the instructional charts all Indian school children pore over in class, Twitter on Tuesday witnessed a slew of hilarious, satirical messages highlighting the sometimes paradoxical attitudes of Indian liberals.

The thread was set off by a chart, mocked up in the manner of the Ideal Boy educational posters that are ubiquitous in Indian schools, titled Adarsh Liberal.

The floodgates burst open as liberal positions were skewered.

It didn't take long for liberals to strike back with a chart of their own. Adarsh Bhakt played on the broad generalisation that anyone who isn't liberal is a devotee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the ensuing Twitter hashtag, #AdarshSanghi, suggested that they supported the Sangh Parivar.

Here's how liberals came to characterise conservative attitudes.

And then, later in the day, someone added new captions to the original chart poking fun at liberals to make them ideal conservatives.
