The snowstorm that battered the eastern United States on January 23 has taken at least 19 lives, restricted thousands of peoples to their homes, displaced a few, cased power outages and forced stranded hundreds of motorists. A state of emergency has been declared in ten states, including Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Cities such as Washington, DC, and New York City have been covered by close to two feet of snow, giving “Netflix and chill” a whole new meaning for many Americans.
According to a report on BBC News, Washington DC is one of the worst affected cities. This is what the capital looked like on Saturday.
