In reply, CSK finished with 139/3 in 17.1 overs.
Dhoni finishes match with 6 but #CSK surprisingly made heavy weather of chasing modest target. After a rousing start middle order showed shortcomings which won’t have been lost on opponents. Nevertheless, this win will see CSk finishing 1 or 2 on points table, which is huge

“The balance of the team is really good at the moment. We made a few tweaks that have worked well for us”: CSK opener Faf du Plessis.

CSK 133/4 after 19.3 overs: CSK just need 2 runs from 3 balls.
CSK 132/4 after 19 overs: Big over for CSK. Bhuvneshwar all over the places with his length and Rayudu and Dhoni make him pay. Two big shots on the leg side and CSK just need three runs from the last over.
CSK 119/4 after 18 overs: Six runs from the over. Rayudu gets a much-needed boundary to keep CSK very much in touching distance. Good bowling from Kaul and keeps SRH in the match.

Faf du Plessis is dismissed by a short ball. #CSK - 108/4 (15.5)#SRHvCSK #OrangeArmy #OrangeOrNothing #IPL2021
CSK 109/4 after 16 overs: Holder bags another wicket as Du Plessis departs. two new men at the crease now for CSK. Rayudu and Dhoni still favourites to win it for CSK but this could get interesting. CSK need 26 runs from 24 deliveries.
CSK 107/3 after 15.4 overs: WICKET! Raina departs. He is trapped lbw by Holder. SRH fighting back late on.
CSK 105/2 after 15 overs: A good final over from Rashid Khan. Just two runs and a wicket. But SRH need a lot more. Suresh Raina is the new batsman in. CSK need 30 runs from 30 deliveries.
CSK 103/2 after 14.4 overs: WICKET! Moeen Ali is dismissed. Rashid Khan has a wicket in his last over. Probably a bit too late in the day for SRH.
CSK 103/1 after 14 overs: A decent over on Holder but there’s no pressure on CSK who know they can win it in singles from here. Six runs from the over. CSK need 32 runs from 36 deliveries.

CSK 97/1 after 13 overs: It’s not been Rashid Khan’s day. After three dot balls, Moeen Ali puts away a slightly shorter delivery from the Afghan bowler. CSK add another six runs to their total. They are cruising to a victory here. CSK need 38 runs from 42 deliveries.
CSK 91/1 after 12 overs: It’s too easy for CSK who pick up eight runs of that Sandeep Sharma over in ones and twos. CSK need 44 runs from 48 deliveries. SRH don’t seem to have the belief to turn this around.
CSK 83/1 after 11 overs: Finally wicket for SRH. Holder gets the breakthrough. Moeen Ali is the man at the crease and he ends the over with a brilliant pull shot that brings him four runs. CSK need 52 runs from 54 deliveries.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis have added more runs than any other pair in IPL 2021. #IPL2021 #SRHvCSK
— Umang Pabari (@UPStatsman) September 30, 2021
CSK 75/1 after 10.1 overs: WICKET! Gaikwad perishes as he tried to clear mid-off. Williamson takes the catch and SRH have broken through. Some hope for the Sunrisers.
CSK 75/0 after 10 overs: Gaikwad drills one down the ground for a four on the very first ball but Abhishek does well to bounce back and concedes just three of the remaining deliveries. CSK need 60 runs from 60 deliveries.
CSK 68/0 after 9 overs: Gaikwad scores two beautiful boundaries and then almost falls to Rashid couldn’t complete the catch off his own bowling. CSK need 67 runs from 66 deliveries.
CSK 60/0 after 8 overs: Good start from Abhishek who gives away just two runs in his first over. But SRH desperately need wickets. It’s been easy for the CSK opening pair. CSK need 75 runs from 72 deliveries.
CSK 58/0 after 7 overs: Du Plessis is in a hurry to finish this. A six straight down the ground was followed by a boundary on the off-side. CSK need 77 runs from 78 deliveries.
End of the Powerplay. And time for a Strategic Timeout. #CSK - 47/0 (6)#SRHvCSK #OrangeArmy #OrangeOrNothing #IPL2021
— SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) September 30, 2021
CSK 47/0 after 6 overs: Rashid Khan who? Ruturaj Gaikwad welcomes the Afghan bowler with four and an emphatic six. The Afghan then hits back trapping the CSK opener lbw. But Gaikwad goes for a DRS review immediately and gets it overturned. Eventful over! CSK need 88 runs from 84 deliveries.
CSK 36/0 after 5 overs: Du Plessis on fire! He welcomes Holder with cracking straight drive for a boundary before he comes down the track and lifts one over mid-off for another four. This is a really good start for CSK. They need 99 runs from 90 deliveries.
CSK 27/0 after 4 overs: Big over for CSK. 15 runs from it. First Gaikwad and then Du Plessis, both clear the leg-side boundary. Pressure straight back on SRH now.
Sandeep Sharma doesn’t get credit that much but he has been really a top class bowler in #IPL over the years. #SRHvCSK
— Vikram Sathaye (@vikramsathaye) September 30, 2021
CSK 12/0 after 3 overs: Gaikwad started with a boundary giving himself room to hit one over mid-off but Sharma bounced back well and nearly got a wicket as Du Plessis almost chopped onto the stumps.
CSK 7/0 after 2 overs: Bhuvneshwar starts well and concedes just two runs of the over. Kept it full through out, inviting the batsman to drive. There were some good shots but the SRH fielders were on their toes.
CSK 5/0 after 1 over: Good start from Sharma. Disciplined with his line and length. Gaikwad finds the gap on the last ball but it is cut off just before the boundary.
9:25pm: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis open for CSK. Sandeep Sharma with the ball for SRH.

Mediocre batting effort. #SRH never got any momentum after losing Roy and Williamson early. Would be a surprise if #CSK don’t reach the target with a degree of comfort

SRH finish on 134/7
Great final over from Chahar who concedes just eight runs. It was a good bowling display from start to finish from CSK. Bravo and Hazlewood the stars but every bowler played his part. Good support from Thakur and Chahar. Jadeja was excellent with his spin bolwing too. CSK need 135 runs to win and seal a place in the playoffs.
SRH 126/7 after 19 overs: 11 runs and a wicket of the penultimate over for SRH. How many can they get in the final over?
SRH 117/7 after 18 overs: Thakur strikes and gets rid of the dangerous Holder. Superb catch by Chahar in the deep
SRH 115/6 after 18 overs: Brilliant final over from Bravo who was so disciplined with the length he wanted to bowl. Gives SRH batsmen no room to free their arms.
For a long time, Josh Hazlewood played very little T20 cricket, playing just 30 matches between 2009 and 2019. However, since the start of last year he's played 22 matches, and he's done well - 24 wickets, economy 6.9rpo, and an Average Bowling Impact +5.0. IPL2021 #SRHvCSK
— The CricViz Analyst (@cricvizanalyst) September 30, 2021
SRH 110/6 after 16.5 overs: Hazlewood strikes again! Samad hits one straight at point where Moeen Ali obliges. SRH’s innings is collapsing a bit in the end.
SRH 110/5 after 16.3 overs: OUT! Abhishek is gone. He scoops one in the air and it goes straight to Du Plessis in the deep. His cameo is over.

SRH 102/4 after 16 overs: Missed opportunity for SRH as they couldn’t make the most of some loose deliveries. Bravo though ended well with a fine slow yorker. Just five runs from the over and Bravo has been phenomenal today.
SRH 97/4 after 15 overs: Samad with a cracking shot for six to start the over. Hazlewood bounced back well after that conceding just three more runs. But SRH suddenly have some big-hitters out there and would be hoping to go big in the final five overs.
Abdul Samad will go for quite a bit in this next IPL auction.
— Joy Bhattacharjya (@joybhattacharj) September 30, 2021
SRH 88/4 after 14 overs: Good over for SRH. 12 runs from it. Samad and Abhishek punishing slightly shorter deliveries. SRH need to get a move on. This over will help.
If Chennai Super Kings win today, their win percentage in #IPL2021 would rise to 81.8% - the highest for any IPL team in any given season.
— The CricViz Analyst (@cricvizanalyst) September 30, 2021
If SRH lose today, their win percentage would drop to 18%, the fourth lowest for any IPL team in any given season.#IPL2021 #SRHvCSK
SRH 76/4 after 13 overs: Another successful over for CSK who are tighteing the screws. Getting rid of the set batsman Saha could be crucial.
SRH 74/4 after 12.4 overs: WICKET! Saha departs! The pressure was building and it forces an error. He tries to pull a ball that was too full for the shot. He top-edges it and Dhoni has an easy catch. Jadeja has his man. SRH in trouble
SRH 72/3 after 12 overs: Moeen Ali into the attack and like the other bowlers is on the money straightaway. Just six runs from his first over.
SRH 66/3 after 10.5 overs: WICKET! Bravo has another one! Garg pulls a short-pitched ball but top-edges it. Dhoni calls for the catch and makes no mistake.
SRH 63/2 after 9 overs: Good over from Jadeja. He’s bowling full and has been consistent with his length. A few variations with pace but very disciplined over. Just six runs from it.
SRH 57/2 after 9 overs: Thakur bowls another good over. He was almost rewarded with a wicket but overstepped the line. CSK bowlers have not allowed SRH batsman to get away. The pressure will surely build on the batting side now.
NO BALL! Saha survives, as he hits one straight to point, but Thakur has overstepped! #SRH - 52/2 (8.2)#SRHvCSK #OrangeArmy #OrangeOrNothing #IPL2021
— SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) September 30, 2021
SRH 52/2 after 8.3 overs: Lucky break for Saha who had played it straight to point but it’s a no ball from Thakur and Saha stays at the crease.
SRH 49/2 after 8 overs: Ravindra Jadeja into the attack and bowls a good first over. Just four runs off it. Keeps the pressure on SRH.
SRH 45/2 after 7 overs: Eventful first over from Bravo. It had two wides, a wicket and few missed full-tosses. It was a fine delivery to get rid of Williamson. SOme late swing for the West Indian who does the job for Dhoni yet again.
SRH 43/2 after 6.3 overs: WICKET! Williamson departs. Dwayne Bravo gets his man. A floated delivery just deviates enough to trap Williamson lbw. CSK’s fine start continues.
SRH 41/1 after 6 overs: Chahar returns from a different end and bowls some good variations. Williamson finds the boundary with a very uncharacteristic shot as he scoops one over Dhoni, but Chahar responds well with a slower one. Good powerplay for CSK.
SRH 35/1 after 5 overs: Shardul Thakur into the attack and bowls a good first over and is on the money with his length. But Saha who seems in good form gets a boundary off the last delivery. Still a good over from Thakur.
SRH 29/1 after 4 overs: Brilliant over from Hazlewood. Gets the big wicket of Jason Roy and then almost gets Williamson. Unfortunately, the outside edge flied exactly between Dhoni and the first slip. CSK will be happy with the start.
SRH 23/1 after 3.3 overs: WICKET! Jason Roy is OUT. The Englishman tries to dance down the track for a big one bot gets a bottom edge and Dhoni has an easy catch.
SRH 23/1 after 3.3 overs: WICKET! Jason Roy is OUT. The Englishman tries to dance down the track for a big one bot gets a bottom edge and Dhoni has an easy catch.
SRH 19/0 after 3 overs: SRH have had a move on and Saha has led the way with some lovely cricketing shots. The first one heave over mid-wicket before a delightful lob over long off.
SRH 5/0 after 2 overs: Good start from Hazlewood. Just one run off the over. Saha needed five deliveries to get off strike and get Roy back at the striking end. The explosive English opener has only faced three balls so far and the scoreboard reflects that.
SRH 4/0 after 1 over: Good first over from Deepak Chahar who is getting some movement early and is swinging the deliver both ways. Both Roy and Saha happy to feel their way in.
7:30pm: Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha open the batting for SRH. Deepak Chahar has the ball for CSK.
