Atletico de Kolkata have roped in Portugal’s Henrique Sereno Fonseca for the ongoing season of the Indian Super League (ISL), the club announced on Saturday. The Sourav Ganguly co-owned franchise signed the Portuguese international, who is set to replace Pable Gallardo Zuerra, who was ruled out of season three before the tournament began.
Zuerra was signed in June, along with another Spanish goalkeeper Daniel Mallo Castro (Dani) and Scottish midfielder Stephen Pearson (Pearo). Sereno has earned a couple of caps with the Portugal national team and has represented the likes of FC Porto, Real Valladolid and FC Koln among in his senior club career.
Kolkata remain unbeaten this season, with two draws (2-2 against Chennaiyin FC and 1-1 against Mumbai City FC) and a 1-0 win over Kerala Blasters FC. They next face FC Goa at home, on Sunday.
