The big news: IPL bid may be called off
The Board of Control for India is likely to defer the bidding process for the Indian Premier League broadcast, digital and media rights, which had been scheduled to open in Mumbai on October 25. The decision will be questioned owing to the Supreme Court's order on Friday, where it directed the BCCI to route all tenders and contracts through the Justice Lodha committee.
The BCCI is in the process of sending out an official statement on Sunday announcing a new date in November, reported The Times of India. A social media giant approached the BCCI early on Saturday and informed that they will not be able to participate in the bidding process since there is insufficient time for them now to send the new Media Rights Agreement to their headquarters in the United States for a final approval, the report said.
