The Olympics in Rio were a blockbuster hit. Three months since it ended, Rio 2016 saw the best in the business make history and retire. It also saw memories being made on a global platform. From Usain Bolt to PV Sindhu, Brazil witnessed one of the most spectacular Olympics of all time.

The opening ceremony was eye popping and saw cultures merging to declare the Games open. Swimmer Michael Phelps came back from retirement to pick up another haul of medals before finally hanging up his “trunks”.

Usain Bolt struck thrice, or rather, “Lightning Bolt” achieved the triple triple winning gold in all his races. India’s PV Sindhu bagged silver to create history and take Indian badminton to new heights. Neymar powered Brazil to their first ever gold medal in football, which was a highlight for the host nation. Mo Farah too won gold after a fall. The Olympic spirit was witnessed across the arena with Nikki Hamblin and Abbey D’Agostino fell down during the 5000 metre heats, however, the duo picked themselves up and ran the rest of the race together.
