Cricket South Africa on Monday charged former Protea cricketer Lonwabo Tsotsobe for breaching its Anti-Corruption Code.
The charges follow a lengthy investigation which was initiated in October 2015 by CSA’s Anti-Corruption Unit into alleged cases of corruption during the 2015 RAM SLAM T20 Challenge Series. Earlier, former South Africa batsman Alviro Petersen was also suspended for similar offences.
Tsotsobe, 33, has been charged for “Contriving to fix matches” the RAM SLAM T20 as well as for “accepting or agreeing to accept a bribe or reward to fix games”.
He has been provisionally suspended from playing, coaching or being associated in any capacity in any match under the jurisdiction of CSA or that of the ICC or any other ICC member.
Tsotsobe has played five Tests for South Africa as well as 61 ODIs and 23 T20Is.
