Buoyed by a blazing 63-ball 143-run stand between Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant, Delhi Daredevils made short work of a challenging target of 209 against Gujarat Lions in Delhi on Thursday, skipping home by seven wickets and in just 17.3 overs. Targets as big as this are not chased down everyday in the IPL and Delhi set a whole new bunch of records:
- Delhi Daredevils completed their chase of 209 in just 17.3 overs, which is now the fastest 200+ chase in the history of Twenty20 cricket.
- It is also the second-highest chase in the history of the IPL after Rajasthan Royals’s 217/7 against Deccan Chargers in 2008.
DD 214/3 in just 17.3 overs - the quickest 200+ chase in T20 history.
