A recap of KKR’s matches during IPL 2020:

  1. As the last of eight teams to take to the field in this tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders showed signs of rustiness as they struggled with both bat and ball against defending champions Mumbai Indians. Having won the toss, KKR were behind the eight-ball for pretty much the entirety of the game with Pat Cummins having a forgettable first outing while bowling. 2. KKR showed why they were regarded as one of the strongest teams before the season began with an all-round performance. Cummins was brilliant with the ball and then Shubman Gill showed why he is rated so highly with a composed half century as KKR beat SRH by seven wickets. 3. DK and Co, in their first match in Dubai, lost the toss but still got to do what they wanted: bat first. And despite a superb bowling effort from Jofra Archer, KKR produced a good team effort to post a comprehensive 37-run win and make it back-to-back wins. 4. Set a massive target of 229 by Delhi Capitals, KKR went on to lose by 18 runs. Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi tried hard at the end but the total proved to be too much. 5. Rahul Tripathi celebrated his promotion to the top by striking a 51-ball 81 as Kolkata Knight Riders returned to winning ways with a 10-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. Tripathi, finally back at his preferred opener position, stood tall on the way to his fifth IPL fifty before Kolkata Knight Riders faltered in the back end of the innings to be bowled out for 167. In reply, CSK were stopped at 157 for five.

6. Batting first, KKR rode on half-centuries from Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik to post 164/6. Kings XI Punjab got to 115/0 but then choked dramatically. Sunil Narine’s brilliant last over helped Kolkata seal a tense win. Read the match report here and watch highlights below:

7. Batting first on a sluggish pitch in Sharjah, RCB got to a strong total of 194/2 thanks to a stunning knock from AB de Villiers. 8. Outplayed both in the bowling and batting department, Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a heavy defeat against defending champions Mumbai Indians. Read match report here and watch highlights below:

9. Batting first, KKR could manage 163 as Shubman Gill top-scored with 36. David Warner batted in the middle order and scored 47 but SRH could only tie the total. 10. Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first in Abu Dhabi but his decision backfired spectacularly. Riding on a sensational opening spell by Mohammed Siraj, Royal Challengers Bangalore kept attacking relentlessly to restrict KKR to just 84/8 in 20 overs. 11. Not for the first time this season, KKR produced a superb turnaround after starting poorly. This time, the comeback was led by Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine with the bat before Varun Chakravarthy’s superb five-for. Read the report here and watch the highlights below.

12. The rollercoaster continued for KKR as they followed up a big win against DC with a disappointing performance against red-hot KXIP. Once again, an early batting collapse was followed by a battling recovery but it was not enough in Sharjah as Chris Gayle took KXIP past the finish line. 13. Nitish Rana continued his good form this season to help KKR get to 172/5 against CSK in Dubai. Ruturaj Gaikwad then showed his batting prowess again but KKR fought back by removing Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni in quick succession.
