Online dating app Tinder said on Wednesday that it has witnessed a 400% increase in downloads in India in the past year. It added that women in the country are more active on the app than men, reported PTI. However, the company did not share more details on the split between men and women on app usage. It also said 90% of its users in the country are in the age group of 18 to 34.

A statement by the company also said that Indians are sending one million “Super Likes” per week on the app, with women being more active in sending them. Users are three times more likely to match with someone they “Super Like”, it said.

The app was launched in 2012 and is present in 196 countries in 30 languages. The company claimed that it sees 26 million matches daily, with over 10 billion matches have been recorded so far.
