Leading Marathi newspaper group Lokmat's office was attacked in multiple locations in Maharashtra because of a "blasphemous" cartoon that was published in its Manthan supplement on Sunday. An FIR was also registered against the cartoonist and the editor.

The editor of the newspaper later extended an apology and assured that action will be taken.
