Bharatiya Janata Party veterans LK Advani, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha on Thursday met at Murli Manohar Joshi's home in Delhi. The four senior leaders had earlier criticised the party following its heavy defeat in the Bihar assembly elections.

While they have not yet revealed the reason behind Thursday's meeting, it comes a day after the BJP suspended MP Kirti Azad for defying its orders after he publicly targeted Union minister Arun Jaitley in connection with corruption at the Delhi and District Cricket Association. Jaitley has served as the president of the association.

Earlier in the day, Azad asked the BJP to specify why he was suspended. He also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene. Party leader Subramanian Swamy announced that he would help Azad draft a reply on the charges levelled against him.

Azad, a former cricketer, said he would reveal more irregularities in the DDCA over the next few days. He said he couldn’t believe the BJP would stoop so low as to take action against him for reporting corruption, PTI reported.
