A fine partnership of 94 between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli drove India to victory over Bangladesh in the final of the Asia Cup. In a match reduced to 15 overs per side after rain, India chased down Bangladesh's score of 120/5 with eight wickets and seven balls to spare. India have now won three series in a row ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh were buoyed by a late surge from Sabbir Rahman (32 off 29 balls) and Mahmudullah (33 off 13 balls) to get to a respectable 120/5 in their 15 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah both impressed with a wicket each.

India lost Rohit Sharma early and seemed nervous at the start of their chase with the asking rate climbing. However, Dhawan and Kohli soon settled in and got the chase under control. Dhawan shook off his bad run of form to get a vital half-century, but was caught in the 13th over for a 44-ball 60. Skipper MS Dhoni (20 not out off six balls) then came in and calmly saw India home, with Kohli remaining unbeaten on 41 off 28 balls.
