Two more people dead as fresh landslides hit Arunachal Pradesh, toll is now 19

At least two more people were killed in fresh landslides in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, reported PTI. At least 30 houses were damaged in the incident at Thongleng Village, 20 km from Tawang town. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju visited the region on Saturday to take stock of the situation.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh also reviewed the ongoing flood situation in the state, which is due to torrential rain. Singh spoke to Chief Minister Kalikho Pul and assured him of all central help required to deal with the crisis. As many as 16 people were killed on Friday when a landslide struck a labour camp in the district. The victims were mostly labourers from Assam and Nepal.
