Bhiar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday promised action in a road rage case that left a 19-year-old man dead. Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorama Devi said her son, the accused, was falsely implicated in the road rage case in Gaya, reported The Hindu. Aditya Sachdeva (pictured above), son of a prominent local businessman, was shot dead on Saturday after he overtook a Range Rover SUV in which the politician's son Rocky Yadav and his bodyguard were travelling. The Class 12 student was in a Maruti Swift with a friend.

Police have not yet arrested Yadav, who is at large. The Nitish Kumar government set up a Special Investigating Team to track him down. "No one will be spared, however powerful," said Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, according to NDTV. Yadav's father, Bindi Yadav, has been arrested for helping his son abscond, while his bodyguard has also been arrested and sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Bindi Yadav defended his son and said Sachdeva and his were drunk and beat up his son who then "accidentally" fired a licenced gun while trying to defend himself. Bindi Yadav has been arrested earlier on charges of sedition and possessing illegal weapons, NDTV said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has called for a shutdown in Gaya to protest the incident and alleged inaction on the part of the administration, reported ANI. On Sunday, residents of Gaya staged a protest and raised slogans against government. “We demand justice and the immediate arrest of Rocky Yadav,” said Rajesh Sachdeva, the victim’s uncle.

Sachdev's friend Ayush said Yadav and his bodyguard started shooting in the air after he and Sachdev overtook the car. The friend claimed they stopped the car after the firing, and an altercation broke out between the four of them. Yadav and the bodyguard punched them, he said, and a shot was fired in which Sachdev died.
