Air ambulance with seven passengers crash lands in Delhi, two injured
The chartered flight made an emergency landing in the capital's Najafgarh area, after the pilot reported an engine failure.
An Alchemist Air ambulance carrying seven passengers reportedly crash landed Delhi's Najafgarh area while making an emergency landing. Two passengers were injured, though no casualties were reported. Fire rescue services were rushed to the spot, and five passengers were taken to Medanta Hospital, according to ANI.
The flight, which took off from Patna, went down in Khair village in southwest Delhi, 6 nautical miles away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said. Minutes before the air ambulance was scheduled to land in Delhi, the pilot contacted the Air Traffic Control to report that both engines had failed.
The airport director of Patna said they will investigate the plane crash to ascertain what went wrong with the aircraft, which is operated by the Alchemist Pharma Company, News18 reported.
