The Aam Aadmi Party removed spokesperson Alka Lamba from her post on Tuesday night for two months after she allegedly deviated from the party's stand on a minister accused of corruption. While the AAP government has maintained that Transport Minister Gopal Rai stepped down for health reasons, Lamba said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wanted to ensure a fair investigation into the alleged Premium Bus Service scam and had asked Rai to quit.

"I am a disciplined worker of the party and I respect its every decision. If I have unknowingly made any mistake then I will remedy it, so that the party's anti-corruption fight does not suffer because of me," Lamba tweeted.

Rai, who is recuperating from a surgery, had been accused of favouring a particular aggregator for an app-based premium bus service scheme planned by the Delhi government. On June 13, he said he was “ready to go to jail” if the charges against him were proved.
