Patanjali will spend nearly Rs 25,000 crore on charity in another ten years, claims Ramdev
The yoga guru said modern practices are compromising the quality of life, and Indian traditions, such as yoga, can keep one happy, stress-free.
Yoga guru Ramdev on Tuesday said his organisation Patanjali Yogpeeth will spend close to Rs 25,000 crore on charity in another 10 years, reported The Hindu. Speaking at the eighth annual Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair in Chennai district, Ramdev said, “Start your day with yoga and make sure to wear only Indian clothes. Shun products from abroad.”
His organisation's new range of consumer goods have become fairly successful around the country. With products ranging from toothpaste to instant noodles, Patanjali is trying to compete with big corporates. Addressing the audience, Ramdev said modern practices are compromising people's quality of life, and traditional Indian ones, such as yoga, can help one lead a happy life devoid of stress.
The organisers of the event in Tamil Nadu said more than 400 participants have attended it so far, and they expect the number to swell in the next few days. It was event was first held in 2009 with only 30 participants.
