A man who allegedly sent funds to Islamic State group sympathisers in India has been arrested in Kuwait. Abdulla Hadi Abdul Rehman Al Enezi had reportedly sent $1,000 (Rs 66,000) to four men in India, including Areeb Majeed of Maharashtra, who had joined the militant group in May 2014, but returned later, reported NDTV.
The arrest was made after a tip-off from the National Investigative Agency. Investigators may visit Kuwait to question Al Enezi. Majeed, who has been in custody since November, 2014, told investigators during interrogation that Al Enezi sent them money from Kuwait when he and three others were in Iraq. The Kuwait government has informed NIA that Al Enezi has admitted to sending the money and funding militant activities.
