Indian soldiers to get new salary under 7th Pay Commission from this month
However, the forces pointed out that the new pay structure lowers their status and pay parity when compared to their police and IAS counterparts.
Indian Army soldiers will get their revised salary under the Seventh Pay Commission from September, reported PTI. Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha has issued a directive to all service headquarters after Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar assured him and Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba that all their concerns and doubts will be addressed at "the highest level".
The forces had pointed out that the Seventh Pay Commission lower the status and pay parity of the forces in comparison to their counterparts in the police and civil administration. “The anomalies committees are meant to correct the shortcomings,” an official told PTI.
