GoAir flight with 180 on board forced to make emergency landing at IGI airport
A technical snag had developed in the aircraft's air bleed system, but was later fixed, the airline said.
A Mumbai-Delhi GoAir flight made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday following engine trouble, PTI reported. Flight G8 329, an Airbus A320 Neo, landed safely with more than 180 people on board.
GoAir said a technical snag had developed in the air bleed system, following which the captain asked the air control tower for priority landing. The power in the left engine had to be reduced to overcome the technical snag, the airline said. The engine problem was inspected after the aircraft landed and the aircraft was cleared for operations soon after, GoAir’s statement added.
This incident comes a week after the engine of a Bengaluru-bound GoAir flight failed immediately after taking off from the Delhi airport. A few passengers on board the flight had seen the fire in the engine and had reported it to the cabin crew.
