Fire breaks out near Kerala's Padmanabhaswamy temple, two injured
A godown and a post office were completely gutted.
A fire broke out at a godown near the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala on Sunday morning, injuring two people, ANI reported. An enquiry was launched into the incident after the fire was brought under control.
At 3.30 am on Saturday, the temple commandos noticed a fire about 50 metres away from the temple on CCTV cameras. As many as 16 fire tenders were called in to douse the flames, reported The Hindu.
A godown where the postal letters were stored and a post office were completely gutted, reported Matrubhumi. Two people, including a Kerala police officer, were injured during the incident.
The cause of fire is yet to ascertained, but it is suspected that a heap of garbage dumped near the site may have triggered the fire, Matrubhumi added.
