BJP leader Shazia Ilmi files FIR against AAP supporters for abusing her on social media
She said she was targeted by Arvind Kejriwal’s party because of the MCD polls.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shazia Ilmi on Tuesday filed a First Information Report against supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party for posting obscene comments against her on social media. She filed the complaint at Delhi’s Mandir Marg police station.
Ilmi said that the Aam Aadmi Party had targeted her because of the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections. “I want to know who these men are. This is such a filthy thing that people usually look away. I don’t want to be the idol of sympathy but want to courageously take on these offenders,” India Today quoted the leader as saying.
The abuse against Ilmi began after she tweet on Monday that said “AK [Arvind Kejriwal] should clean the Kachhra (Sandeep Kumar etc) within his own filthy ranks before attempting to clean Delhi. Lewd allegations will not help!” Kumar, a former Aam Aadmi Party leader, was removed from the party after a video of him in a compromising position with a woman surfaced. He was also seen campaigning for BJP’s Narela candidate Savita Khatri on Sunday. Khatri was subsequently expelled from the party on Tuesday.
