Arvind Kejriwal’s car stolen from outside Delhi Secretariat
An Aam Aadmi Party volunteer from the United Kingdom, Kundan Sharma, had gifted the chief minister the car in January 2013.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s car was stolen from outside the premises of the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday, ANI reported. Additional Director General of Police Anto Alphonse said the theft took place around 1 pm, the Hindustan Times reported.
Alphonse said the theft of the blue WagonR was captured on CCTV camera. “But the footage is blurred,” he added. A First Information Report has been registered.
Reacting to it, Kejriwal retweeted a post that said, “So much for Delhi Police - dhyan kidhar hai! [Why is Delhi Police not focused on the job]”. He also retweeted a user who claimed that if thefts could be committed from right outside the secretariat, the law and order situation in other parts of Delhi would be much worse.
An Aam Aadmi Party volunteer from the United Kingdom, Kundan Sharma, had gifted Kejriwal the car in January 2013. Kejriwal gave the WagonR to Naveen Jaihind, the party leader in charge of Haryana, in 2014. Presently, the car was being used by AAP media coordinator and youth wing chief Vandana Singh.
